M-66 Missaukee/Kalkaska Realignment Map: 1970–1982

As detailed in the article M-66 Missaukee/Kalkaska Controversy, the map depicts the initially-proposed route for the M-66 realignment in northern Missaukee and southern Kalkaska Counties, as finalized in 1968 and approved in 1970, as well as a subsequent revised realignment (which still crossed Filer Creek) and the finally-constructed route of M-66. The portion south of Phelps Rd was completed in short order, while the Filer Creek Controversy kept the northern section to north of the Manistee River from being completed for another decade.
