Pre-Opening Bike Ride (page 1/3)

On Sunday, October 25, 2015, the Michigan Highways webmaster and author toured the still yet-to-be-opened to traffic M-231 route in north central Ottawa Co. The highway itself was almost 100% complete, with just a few minor odds-and-ends remaining to be wrapped up. These pages include photos taken on that bicycle trip. The M-231 Grand River crossing also features a non-motorized trail along the western side of the bridge dedicated to Sgt. Henry E. Plant (1841–1925) of Ottawa Co, a war veteran and 1896 Congressional Medal of Honor recipient. The bridge over the Grand River can be seen in the distance. ©2015 Christopher J.
